Generals Robert Głąb, Ryszard Parafianowicz, Roman Kopka and Grzegorz Skorupski have been sidelined and reassigned to less prominent roles within the Polish armed forces, the onet.pl news website reported.

It said Głąb lost his job as Deputy Chief of Staff for Resources and Management at NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

Meanwhile, Parafianowicz was removed from the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, and Kopka ceased to be the commander of the 7th Coastal Defense Brigade, according to onet.pl.

Skorupski lost his senior position in the General Command of the Polish Armed Forces, the website said, citing the defense ministry in Warsaw.

All four generals were closely associated with former conservative defense ministers Antoni Macierewicz and Mariusz Błaszczak, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The Polish defense ministry was quoted as saying that these personnel decisions are in line with regulations, do not affect the continuity of command, and are seen as part of a broader personnel restructuring within the ministry that involves officers from the previous administration.

According to earlier reports, the Polish defense ministry has also initiated proceedings to remove Brigadier General Artur Jakubczyk from the NATO International Military Staff, amid allegations of favoritism and accusations of homophobia and racism.
